Second Chances

I have a confession to make – I have been recently cheating.  To explain, I have been repeating outfits (horrors!), i.e. having worn an outfit to an evening event, then again to work later that week or vice versa.

Of late, we have had a very punishing round of social events.  Case in point – a few weeks ago we were only home in the evening two nights out of seven.  Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining – it’s been a lot of fun (though tiring) and we’ve been to some wonderful shows, including an orchestral event, an opera, dinner a couple of times and a couple of burlesque shows.  This was rounded out by the Motley Crue and Alice Cooper concert – fantastic, particularly Alice, legendary man.

So to the confessional part of this note.  ‘Lime and Lace’ was worn to the opera before it was seen at work; I revisited ‘No Ordinary Audrey’ for the concerto evening, and one of the burlesque show looks made an appearance as ‘Rose Tinted’.  My reasons?  Some of the clothes are just too lovely never to see the light of day again, and it made my life a little easier during the busy period.  I am well aware that I have created somewhat of a rod for my own back with my endeavours not to repeat a complete outfit, but (for the most part!) I enjoy the challenge and do my best to maintain the standard.  The next challenge – my wardrobe is groaning under the strain and needs a serious cull – stat.  I have already discussed this with my husband who has promised to assist.  I am stressing already just thinking about it!
