Born from a long-standing love of fashion and an affinity with ‘vintage’ style and values, Demi Monde seeks to inspire women everywhere, of all ages, background and budget, to experience the pleasure and confidence that comes from developing their own sense of fashion and personal style.
In response to consistent requests from friends and colleagues to share my ‘style’ and fashion ‘journey’, and with very humble beginnings, Demi Monde continues to evolve from a simple blog to a source of inspiration for anyone wanting to express themselves and build self-esteem with their own unique style.
Style, class, elegance and good manners do not require vast amounts of money. What is required is a healthy dose of self-respect and respect for your situation. What are you dressing for? Work, an evening out, family gathering, wedding, etc.? Choose clothing appropriate to the context and ensure that it is clean, neat, tidy and ironed. Similarly, ensure that your hair is clean and tidy and that you have a high level of personal hygiene.
It also costs nothing to be polite. ‘Please’ and ‘thank you’ go a long way, as does a friendly smile and appropriate behaviour. It never hurts to be well-read, and being able to talk knowledgeably on a range of topics is always helpful in social situations – make friends with your Library card!
All of these things are easily attained by most people at a minimal cost and provide the basis for a healthy self-image, positive relationships with others and ongoing success in your many endeavours.
Please enjoy the site and all it has to offer. May it inspire you to a happy and prosperous life, with a fashion sense and style that uniquely expresses all of your many strengths.
